The 4-panel Advanced Enclosure was developed to enhance the Blast/CBRN Containment, Mitigation and Decontamination capabilities of the Universal Containment System (UCS). It is a recommended optional accessory to the standard UCS system, and allows a Bomb Disposal Technician greater flexibility in dealing with CBRN scenarios when a suspect Improvised Explosive Device (IED) may be located in areas where a Standard Enclosure may not be suitable for deployment.
The 4 panel Advanced Enclosure was specifically designed to protect against an IED placed along walls, corners or near poles and columns. The Enclosure can quickly be configured for the specific scenario and efficiently contain the threat without having to touch or move the IED.
The Air Foam Dolly System (AFDS) is the primary foam delivery unit used to fill the Advanced Enclosure with CASCAD foam for blast mitigation, containing and decontaminating CBRN agents and encapsulating Radiological particles. Depending on the configuration the Enclosure can be filled in less than 25 seconds.
The capability of each Enclosure to contain a blast varies depending on the amount and type of explosive used..
