IED & CBRNe Containment Tent System
The Universal Containment System (UCS), or blast tent, is designed to be placed over a suspect Improvised Explosive Device (IED) containing CBRNe threats and then filled with CASCAD foam to mitigate explosions, decontaminate hazardous materials and encapsulate Radiological particles.
The Universal Containment System is available in 4, 6 or 8 Panel configurations. Unlike a typical blast tent, the 4-Panel containment system can be fitted against walls, corners and around poles. All versions can be easily carried and deployed by a Bomb Disposal Technician wearing the Med-Eng EOD 9 Bomb Suit.
The CASCAD foam has the capabilities to suppress a blast, neutralize any Chemical or Biological (C/B) agents and encapsulate Radiological particles for safe disposal. Prior to detonation, an optional ballistic blanket cover can be placed over the Enclosure as a precaution against fragmentation.
The UCS tent helps minimize the time a bomb disposal technician or EOD operator spends near the threat, allowing them to perform their Render Safe Procedures quickly and safely. The 4-Panel Enclosure is filled with foam using the Air Foam Dolly System in approximately 25 seconds, the 6-Panel in 1 minute and the 8-Panel in just over 2 minutes.
Containment Tent System Features
- Ballistic fabric stops and contains fragmentation
- Easy and rapid deployment
- Lightweight, portable and flexible
- Can be deployed and filled by a single operator
- Available with 4, 6 or 8 panel configurations
Note that the capability of each Enclosure to contain a blast varies depending on the amount and type of explosive.
