Area Search is generally a low risk search operation, with an aim of locating concealed resources. The area is systematically searched utilizing equipment and procedures that are designed to achieve maximum results with the minimum of manpower. The procedures can also be utilized to ensure an area is free from threats.
Route Search procedures can be used in a variety of ways, ranging from searching an entire route from point A to B or to contentrating the search effort at selected areas along the route. A route can include tracks, roads, rail and waterways.
Core Search Equipment is provided in three manportable backpacks. The equipment is designed to offer a team of 6-8 personnel the necessary tools to conduct the majority of search operations. Including the ability to record and remove physical evidence. The Core Search Equipment can be augmented for specific Search missions.
Additional equipment recommended for developing an Area Search capability includes mine/metal detectors and for developing a Route Search capability includes both mine/metal detectors and cable detectors.
