Building Search is generally an offensive search operation aimed at denying resources, gathering intelligence and ultimately gathering evidence for a criminal prosecution. It can be conducted in a deliberate or rapid manner depending upon the threat level in the operating environment. It can further be conducted in a disruptive or non-disruptive manner depending on the threat assessment undertaken.
Venue Search is a defensive search operation. It is normally conducted to ensure that a safe environment is provided for an event. Search assets will normally be part of a much larger security plan and may not just involve searching a main building but also incorporate areas, routes and surrounding outbuildings.
Core Search Equipment is provided in three manportable backpacks. The equipment is designed to offer a team of 6-8 personnel with the necessary tools to conduct the majority of search operations. Including the ability to record and remove physical evidence. The Core Search Equipment can be augmented for specific Search missions.
Additional equipment recommended for developing a Building and Venue Search capability are Eagle Video Search Kit, Non-Linear Junction Detectors, Explosive Particle and Vapour Detectors, Thermal Viewing aids and Anomoly Detectors.
